Dr. Mitch Long, a proud Round Rock native and former patient of ASTRehab, is passionate about helping his patients move and feel their best. He graduated from Texas Lutheran University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, earning President’s Honor Roll recognition every semester. During his time there, he played NCAA soccer for four years and was a two-time Academic All-American.
In 2024, Dr. Long earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Logan University in St. Louis, Missouri. While at Logan, he was recognized with the President’s Honor Roll distinction and served as a student representative for the Logan chapter of Rehab2Performance.
Dr. Long holds certifications in Dry Needling, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), and Functional Range Conditioning (FRC). He is also trained in techniques such as Active Release Technique (ART), Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), and the McKenzie Method (MDT), among others. His approach, influenced heavily by principles taught by Rehab2Performance, focuses on getting patients moving—both in the office and at home—with individualized rehabilitation plans.
Since retiring from competitive soccer, Dr. Long has shifted his athletic focus to running, completing one marathon and numerous half-marathons, with many more races on the horizon. When he’s not out on the roads or trails, you’ll find him watching soccer or staying up late (or waking up early) to catch a Formula 1 race.
